HRV Heat Recovery Ventilation Systems – Windsor
Providing HRV Systems with Lifetime Warranties
What Is Heat Recovery Ventilation?
During the coldest months of the winter in the Windsor region, no one wants to open a window to get fresh air. With air from a furnace or other heat source constantly being re-circulated, winter air can quickly become stale and stuffy. The Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) brings fresh air in from outside while exchanging it for stale interior air. During the intense heat of the summer when the air conditioner is always on, the HRV works in reverse cooling fresh air from the heat outside.
How It Works
As warm air is kicked outside, the HRV unit removes the heat from it and transfers the heat to the fresh air that it draws in from outside. This air is put back into circulation through the ductwork in your home
Why You Need One
When we’re closed up in our homes during the bitter cold of the winter or the intense heat of the summer, indoor air quality can be as much as 70 times more polluted than fresh outdoor air. Furnaces are the worst, re-circulating dust, animal dander, mould and mildew. During the summer, pollen and other allergens can also become trapped in our homes. For individuals suffering from respiratory difficulties such as allergies and asthma, indoor air can cause serious health issues. The HRV unit provides proper ventilation allowing you to breathe easier.
Maintenance
Once your HRV is installed, Guaranteed Comfort recommends semi-annual maintenance during spring and fall to get your system ready for the shut-in seasons. This maintenance can be provided at the same times as you furnace, air conditioner, or other heating and cooling equipment maintenance. During your service call, out technicians will perform all the necessary checks, cleaning and adjustments necessary to keep your entire system running efficiently.
